Rebuilt and restored antique rubber parts. Specializing in running board rubber with original (authentic) vintage type patterns.
Before mat installation your boards are stripped, sandblasted, straightened and repaired. The mats are permanently bonded to your boards with a two part epoxy rubber adhesive used in the conveyor belt industry. All edges are double locked with our unique vulcanizing process. We also spray a two part epoxy coating designed for severe heavy duty industrial applications onto the mat surface and board underside to completely seal the unit. The result is a soft, pliable, natural looking finish which is far superior in quality, durability and appearance to all competitive running board material.

I recommend you make your own box for shipping your boards to me. Please follow my simple instructions below for building a crate that is easy to make, lightweight, and inexpensive.I will use this box to ship back your boards. The extra clearance around the running boards is VITAL. DO NOT make boxes without inside clearance.

Measure boards at widest point with boards placed wide end to narrow and FACE to FACE. Measure length of boards at widest point. Make box 3" wider than boards (inside measurement). Make box 3" longer than boards (inside measurement). Make box from 1" x 6" spruce (actual measurement 3/4" x 5 1/2"). Fasten together with drywall screws. Put 1/4" or 3/8" plywood cap over spruce end piece. (This is to prevent end breakage if dropped on end in shipment by UPS.) Drill two 1/2" holes in both ends to accept rope knotted on inside of box (for ease of handling). Fasten light plywood to bottom of box with drywall screws. (1/8" or 1/4" is heavy enough.) Put boards in box wide end to narrow and FACE to FACE and pack around them with grocery bags filled with two or three crumpled up sheets of newspaper. Fasten light plywood to top of box with drywall screws (as in No. 9). Be sure to put return address on outside of box. Insure your boards well with UPS (cost is minimal).Write on crate antique item year, make and model.Your name, address and phone number Description of Article Date Shipped To be returned upon repair.

If you decide on restoring your running boards it is always a good idea not to get them stripped or sand blasted as that is original material and that plays a key role in the running board restoration. The running board that is in the best condition is always used as a template for measurements and detail work to ensure exact duplicates are built to the highest quality.
